This single day course touches on four-wheel drive systems, vehicle handling, safety, and how to avoid getting stuck.

This is our 3-day foundation course and is designed to promote safe, responsible and enjoyable off-highway and off-road driving. It consists of a combination of instruction, hands-on training and the examination to qualify you for the City & Guilds NPTC Level 2 Award in Off Road Driving. There is a focus on both the basic elements of off-road driving, and how to do it safely.

We can develop an all-inclusive training schedule for you, based on your choice of dates, locations and group size. These are longer courses, focussing on longer duration expeditionary travel and can be tailored to specific environments such as Desert Driving, Mountain Driving, Tropical Rainforest Driving (outside of the USA) and Technical Off-Road Driving.

We need to pre-register candidates for the NPTC Off-road driving assessment. You shouldn't normally need to use this option, please only do so if we've asked you.

Vehicle Options for training*

The cost for this course is based on you bringing your own vehicle, as we've noticed most people like to do this. However, for an extra cost we can provide a vehicle for you - the cost is usually around $300 per day, depending on location and vendor. We'll add this total to your final invoice.
